Svetlana Maras
Svetlana Maraš is a composer and sound artist from Serbia. She studied composition at University of Art in Belgrade and graduated from Helsinki Media Lab - Sound in New Media department, where she also worked as a research assistant. Along with formal music training, she pursued a path of free experimentation that brought her into an area where music merges with other fields of art, theory and technology. She has written music for ensembles, radiophonic pieces, interactive sound and media installations and she often performs live electronic music with others and solo.
Her works have been presented internationally, at venues, conferences and festivals such as CTM (Berlin), Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (UK), International Music Institute (Darmstadt), Espace Multimedia Gantner (Bourogne), Onassis Cultural Centre (Athens), Museum of Contemporary Art (Belgrade), Ausland (Berlin), ORF Kunstradio-Radiokunst, Radio Belgrade, RTE Lyric (Ireland), ICMC (New York), ISEA (Dubai), Orpheus Institute (Ghent) among many other places.
Maraš is currently based in Belgrade, where she's in charge of Radio Belgrade’s Electronic studio.
