The Mind, Body & Inner Ear
(2018)
Edo Van Breemen
Edo Van Breemen worked on ‘The Mind, Body & Inner Ear’ during his residency at Spatial Sound Institute during 2018. His work combines immersive sound meditation and physical therapy methods as a new approach for addressing mental health and healing trauma.
Using the 4D system he is creating compositions consisting of shifting frequencies with recurring, drifting, tonal intervals to pair with physical body positions that allow participants to become more receptive to certain cognitive behaviour therapy practices. He will continue his research in Canada, collaborating with psychologists and neurologists to gather qualitative and quantitative evidence about the effects of spatial sound on the brain.
