Sól Ey

Sól Ey (Sóley Sigurjónsdóttir, 1996) is a composer, sound artist and performer from Iceland. Her work explores the relationship of sound, space, movement and technology. She builds her own interactive systems and electronic instruments which explore the potential of expression and relationship between the performer and its audience. By doing this, Sól Ey works on real-time generated scores where the interaction from the audience is key for creating her piece. She is also developing compositional methods that use the body as an instrument.

Sól Ey is the founder of RASK in association with Jökull Máni Reynisson. RASK is a collective of young Icelandic artists that share the interest in interdisciplinary art and technology development. Furthermore, she is a board member of UNM Iceland, an annual festival for Young Nordic composers. She is currently studying composition and sonology at The Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where her main mentors are Kees Tazelaar, Peter Adriaansz and Yannis Kyriakides.
