Gábor Lázár’s aim with the work Omnidirectional Synthesis for 4DSOUND is to create a close connection between pure sound synthesis and our perception of space. Working with one single instrument, his composition is characterised by a process of balancing between construction and deconstruction, consonance and dissonance, repetition and change, predictability and randomness, generating series of variations from these different processes. Though driven by generative techniques and precise automations, a clear emotional intensity and sensitivity for details emerges from his abstract approach to sound and space.
