Job Application for Mathematician

The Spatial Sound Institute is looking to engage a full-time/part-time mathematician to become involved in ongoing research into the natural laws governing wave behavior within geometries and physics of sound.

We invite enthusiastic mathematicians to become part of an interdisciplinary team involving musicians, programmers, physicians and neuro-scientists. The ongoing research on the connection of sound phenomena with fundamental natural laws has possible great implications in theoretical and applied physics. We expect the research to touch upon various fields within mathematics and physics such as magnetism, sound wave propagation, rose and lissajous curves, symmetry along group theory and Lie groups, octonions, fractal and crystallization patterns.

Preference goes to working with PostDoc or PhD graduates in mathematics with experience in coding Python and/or C++, though we are open for applications from anyone finding significant relation to the research from within their field of work and professional skills.

Central place of work will be the Spatial Sound Institute in Budapest, Hungary, and might involve traveling from/to Budapest within Europe and/or to visit other partner Institutes from time to time. Principal collaborators at the Spatial Sound Institute will be Paul Oomen, Head of Development, and Rona Geffen, Research Associate. Further terms and conditions of the position will be discussed upon response by the applicant.

Applicants are requested to send a short motivation letter and their CV before February 29th 2020.
