Stijn van Beek
Stijn van Beek studied traditional folk music and contemporary music at University College Cork in Ireland and graduated with a Master in Music Technology and composition at the Utrecht School of the Arts in 2007. As an uilleann pipes player (Irish bagpipes) he worked with bandoneonist Carel Kraayenhof and film composer Ennio Morricone and he toured Belgium, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain and Italy performing with several folk ensembles. As a producer of electronic music he still draws inspiration from the physicality of traditional music and world music. He released the Burst EP with Breek (a collaboration with Salvador Breed) with Atomnation records.
As an audio software programmer he develops his own unique software tools to be able to create imaginative and evocative sound worlds. Van Beek has been working as Senior Software Programmer at 4DSOUND since 2016.
